It has been observed that there is a particular worrisome trend in the educational sector of Edo state; Most teachers adopt a "sit-tight" attitude in the urban areas of the state and do not want to be posted to rural areas. This has over a period of time led to an imbalance in the geographic spread of teachers- the urban areas of the state are densely populated while the rural areas have a critical need for teachers.
It is against this backdrop that the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole led administration had stated that teachers would be rotated on a basis of having spent five years in one station.
